WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AND GOALS FOR THE 2012 SEASON?
- To stay fit and healthy
- To complete the World Skyrunning Series
YOUR HIGHEST POINT OF YOUR CAREER?
Probably winning Transalps (with Andy Symonds) in 2009 & 2010. It's a brutal 8 day traverse of the Alps & the sense of achievement is immense.
AND LOWEST POINT?
Achilles injury from winter 2009 to spring 2010 took an age to settle but eventually came good
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE RACE?
Sentiero delle Grigne Skymarathon, Italy.
WHAT WAS THE TERRAIN LIKE?
Very technical mountain race. Lots of big climbs, descents and ridge running...even some ropes and chains to help on the most technical sections - a total adventure!
WHAT SALOMON KIT DO YOU GENERALLY USE AND ENJOY THE MOST?
Speedcross 3 & fellcross shoes - super comfy.
HOW DO YOU TRAIN DURING THE SEASON?
I try and keep the training consistent. Train with groups whenever possible
WHAT WOULDN'T YOU RUN WITHOUT (SHOES DOESN'T COUNT!)
Fast Wing Hoody II jacket. It's a great lightweight bit of kit. It comes in seriously handy on marginal weather days.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURTIE TRAINING ROUTE?
Arrochar Alps. Brutally steep munros close to Glasgow.
IF YOU COULD COMPETE IN ONE LAST RACE – WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Mount Kinabalu Climbathon, Malaysia. I've never done the race before but I've been told it's amazing.
WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE TRAINING OR RACING PARTNER?
Training partner = Jethro Lennox - he's as strong as an ox and ridiculously competitive. A great guy to train with!
Racing Partner = Andy Symonds. We run really well together & have a good laugh!
